Volunteer With Us

At Salisbury CFS we recognise that our strength comes from our people. As such, we are always taking expressions of interest for our next recruitment intake.

We have two categories of membership, both of which are important to the effective operation of the brigade

  • Firefighter members provide frontline emergency response and rescue services to the community. With little or no notice, firefighters will respond to emergencies in the Salisbury area and surrounds. These emergencies could be:

    • Urban or Rural Fires

    • Vehicle Accidents

    • Hazardous Materials

    • and many more

  • Operational support members enable the success of the brigade through critical behind the scenes tasks. Typically they are responsible for:

    • Radio Operations

    • Fundraising

    • Logistical Support

    • Administrative Support

Requirements

We are appreciative of all those who wish to volunteer their time for their community however to meet our operational responsibilities, our recruit firefighters must meet the following requirements:

  • Be at least 18 years of age

  • Be reasonably fit and capable

  • Live within 6 minutes of our station (to ensure adequate response times)

  • Can commit to weekly training and can regularly respond to emergency calls when required
